Ending up at Tasha's house

For some reason, Josh and Jared found themselves hanging out at Tasha's house whenever they were bored in the years immediately after high school. They weren't particularly close to Tasha, but sometimes they felt like just getting out of their own houses, and there really wasn't anywhere else to go. Tasha's just so happened to be centrally located. Her parents were nice and welcoming, so the guys would frequently just show up there, unannounced. It didn't make much sense then, either.

On days they went, they wouldn't even check whether Tasha was home first. They'd just visit with her parents for a bit, and then sit there and wait. Sometimes it'd be for hours. Actually, most of the time, Tasha never showed up.

On one visit, they hung out with her cousin, Chris. He was a really nice guy who showed Josh some guitar techniques and then made them watch an episode of the TV show, Wilfred. They never saw him again.

Not only did they never see Chris after the one time, they never saw Tasha's sister Lauren at all. Despite living in the house and seemingly having a lot more in common with the guys than Tasha herself, she happened to never be around.

Josh and Jared's lowest point of visiting Tasha's may have been when her parents and other sister were getting ready to watch a movie, just as they showed up. Tasha wasn't home, so her parents invited Josh and Jared to watch the movie with them while they waited. After sitting there and watching the Dwayne Johnson movie Tooth Fairy for about 20 minutes, the guys made an excuse and left.

From that point on, the guys decided that while they were indeed depressed, they should still preserve a little dignity. They never visited Tasha's house like that again.  ❒
