When Jared and Audrey rode in the car, they would often get too cold or too hot and need an adjustment of the air conditioning.
They would never directly ask whomever was driving if they could please turn up or down the air. Instead, they would whine, “I'M HOT!” or “I'M COLD!” incessantly until their parent got the message.
This continued even into their teens.
At one point, there was a rule instituted for the car that they had to actually ask politely for the air to be adjusted, but this was forgotten after a few days.
Now, as adults, they've still continued the behavior when they've come home to visit. But their new approach is to say, “Turn on the air to death, turn on the pure, utter air TO DEATH” the moment Memo opens the car door. ❐
