“Apple Coke”

There's an old family story that a very young Jared used to ask for “Apple Coke” when he wanted soda.

According to both Memo and Nan, Jared often drank apple juice and ate apples and applesauce, so he grew to think it was standard practice to just add “apple” to the beginning of the names of food items.

However, Jared clearly remembers asking for “Apple Coke,” too, and it was for an entirely different reason: he was actually requesting the very real Cherry Coke, and it was during an era when its logo contained little cherries. Jared simply mistook the cherries for little apples. He was, like, 3!

Some of the family thinks Jared made up that explanation to avoid embarrassment, but the old logo clearly corroborates his story:
