“Aubrey Giar is very crumb”

“Aubrey Giar is very crumb” was a phrase that Jared programmed to display as a screensaver on their family computer.

Historically, Jared loved calling Audrey dumb. It was a term of endearment between them, and neither took it as an insult. But their parents didn't really like hearing or seeing it, so Jared had to improvise a code to keep it kosher on their computer's display.

To diguise his message, he first changed Audrey to “Aubrey,” keeping in line with how certain schoolmates misidentified her.

He next changed Gair to “Giar,” which is how she misspelled her own name on a preschool project.

“Very crumb” was a simple rhyme of very dumb, and the rhyme scheme was one Jared employed often when singing freely about her intelligence.

The scrolling message served as their computer screensaver for years. It appeared in Comic Sans font, rotating through a rainbow of colors over a black background.

Jared's favorite tidbit about the message was how Drew came to notice and quote it without ever referencing where he learned it.
