About

Welcome

This is the GAIR FAMILY LIBRARY, a developing collection of personal archives and essays by me, Jared.

In this project, I will attempt to document every story, memory, inside joke, and other piece of information that I can possibly remember from several eras of my life. It's a hyperlocal journalism project. It's journalism just for me.

In everyday life, we regularly take photos and video to commemorate everything from daily happenings to significant life moments. But when it comes to our conversations, stories, and other spoken communication, we only rely on memory. We rarely transcribe our own personal anecdotes. Over the years, we forget the stories we once treasured, and eventually, they're gone forever.

My goal is to archive absolutely everything that I possibly can for posterity. I aim to bring legitimacy to the minutiae, and to elevate personal gossip and stories to the heights of genuine reporting.

The catalogue is organized into a series of collections highlighting themes of interest. Feel free to browse the work, but if you're not me, why would you want to?

The project was formerly known as SELF-ABUSE. And it's still in beta, so please pardon the dust.
